Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Sunday said his visit to China next week will further strengthen friendly relations between the two countries and promote economic, trade and cultural ties. Talking to Chinese media based in Islamabad, the Prime Minister said during the visit he will meet Chinese leadership and business community to enhance the existing trade and economic relations.
Shaukat Aziz said both Pakistan and China have commonalties on regional and international issues and always supported each other.
He said both the countries are co-operating in various fields to ensure progress, prosperity and welfare of the people living in the region.
Shaukat Aziz said China has made tremendous progress in all the fields and Pakistan wanted to get full benefit from the successful experience of time-tested and close friend of China.
Appreciating Chinese role in the development of Pakistan, the Prime Minister said a number projects including Gwadar Port and coal projects were running with the help of China.
While talking to women lawyers here at the Prime Minister House, he said women lawyers could play more effective role in the progress and prosperity of the country through creating awareness among women, that constitute fifty percent of the population.
He said for the first time, the government has given sufficient representation to the women in all democratic institutions and paid special consideration to promote health and educational facilities for them.
Shaukat Aziz said without fair and free justice system, the country could not make rapid progress; therefore, the government would ensure provision of justice to the people at all cost.
Appreciating the contributions of women in civil service, health, education and other departments, the Prime Minister said their role has also been acknowledged in the judicial system.
The Prime Minister said the government would also make further reforms in the police system to make it according to present needs and demands so that instead of creating problems for the people, the police could solve their problems.
He asked the women lawyers to present suggestions and proposals for further improving the judicial system.
