ABU DHABI: Egypt's state grain buyer, the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC), said on Thursday it had bought 120,000 tonnes of Russian and Romanian wheat in a tender.
GASC bought 60,000 tonnes of Russian wheat and 60,000 tonnes of Romanian wheat, vice chairman Ahmed Youssef said.
The wheat was purchased at an average price of $177.17 a tonne cost and freight.
Traders gave the following breakdown of the purchase: ADM: 60,000 tonnes of Russian wheat at $168.85 a tonne free-on-board and $7.51 a tonne freight equating to $176.36 a tonne cost and freight (C&F)
ADM: 60,000 tonnes of Romanian wheat at $169.90 a tonne FOB and $8.09 a tonne freight equating to $177.99 a tonne C&F
