German engineering giant Siemens has won a contract worth 1.5 billion euros (two billion dollars) to supply 60 high-speed trains to Russia, Siemens chairman Heinrich von Pierer announced Tuesday. Russia also had an option to take delivery of a further 90 trains, von Pierer told journalists on the sidelines of German-Russian talks here.
An agreement in principle had been signed at the talks, with a definitive contract to be signed soon, he said.
