A division bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Chief Justice Saiyed Saeed Ashhad and Justice Maqbool Baqer on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of a constitutional petition filed by Asif Ali Zardari till December 29 after Advocate General Sindh Anwar Mansoor Khan filed comments on behalf of Sindh government. When the petition came up for hearing, AD Sindh submitted comments in which he said that prayer made by the petitioner were beyond law and therefore could not be granted.
Referring to permission for using coloured glasses in vehicle, the comments said that the drive against tinted glasses was under the instruction of federal government and was denied to retired judges of superior courts and even Sindh Home Minister was fined for travelling in a car with tinted glasses.
The display of weapons is also illegal and could not be allowed particularly in the over all scenario in Sindh, the comments said defending the orders of Sindh Home Department which refused permission to Asif Zardari to keep private guards, carry weapons openly and to have a vehicle with tinted glasses. The government itself is concerned about the security of petitioner as he is a political figure and therefore he was allowed to hire guards from any registered security firm, however display of arms by any person could not be encouraged or allowed, the comments said.
