Terming the harassment and filing of fabricated cases against the human rights activists as a negative trend and frustration of the government functionaries, well-known human right activist and Ansar Burney Trust Chairman Ansar Burney demanded of the government to take immediate measures to bring this practice to an end. He was expressing solidarity with Ulfat Kazmi, executive director and president, Global Foundation, against whom the government has failed against fake case to pressurise him.
"Kazmi is my second in the fight for human rights. In this battle, he is not alone, but more than 7,000 human right organisations fully pledge their support for him", Burney said, while talking to Syed Ulfat Kazmi on telephone from Dubai.
He said he is in constant contact with the federal interior minister and the Punjab chief minister.
"I am coming to Pakistan very soon to look into the matter and raise it with relevant authorities", he added.
Ansar Burney said such tactics couldn't retract us from our going war on human rights, adding the cases fabricated against Ulfat Kazmi are self-speaking evidence of the latter's innocence whereas every body knows that no effort is spared to violate human rights inside jails.
He said: "Kazmi's efforts to limelight the corruption and cruelties going on in jails, is no less than a crusade, and I acknowledge his services."
Ansar Burney warned that jail administration fully responsible for any harm is caused to Kazmi or his family.
