The Bangladeshi taka ended weaker on Thursday against the US currency on increased demand for import related payment, dealers said. The taka was quoted at 59.67/61.27 per dollar, against 59.67/61.18 on Wednesday Call rates ranged between 3.5 percent and 8.0 percent against 4.0 percent and 8.0 percent on Wednesday. The interbank trading will be closed on Friday for the weekend in Bangladesh and on Saturday, dealers said.
