Nation urged to make Pakistan prosperous: President and Prime Minister's messages on Quaid's day
President General Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz have urged the nation to make a pledge to redouble efforts to make Pakistan a prosperous and dynamic Islamic welfare state envisioned by Father of the Nation. In their separate messages on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, they said there can be no doubt about the fact that Quaid-e-Azam was one of the greatest leaders in the world history and creation of Pakistan is a living testament to his foresight and political genius.
A man of impeccable integrity, the Quaid, through personal example led the independence movement to its successful culmination against seemingly overwhelming odds.
They emphasised that it is imperative for all Pakistanis to try and instill in themselves exceptional personal qualities, which the Quaid-e-Azam possessed. We need to inculcate in ourselves the spirit of dedication, high moral character and honesty of purpose coupled with the guiding principles of "Unity, Faith and Discipline" enunciated by the Quaid.
Both the leaders expressed the confidence that by the Grace of Allah Almighty Pakistan has embarked upon a course for realisation of the Quaid's vision and sustained efforts are being made for economic, educational, social, political and cultural uplift of Pakistan.
Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad in his message said that the best way to pay tributes to Father of the Nation is to follow his guiding principles, Faith, Unity and Discipline, which can help in making the country stable, developed and prosperous.
By adopting these principles we can foil the nefarious designs of internal and external enemies, he added.
The governor said those nations, which continued their journey towards their goals by learning from the achievements of their heroes, achieved success.
Quaid-e-Azam openly condemned injustice, cruelty and terrorism, which took place in the Sub-continent or any other part of the world at every platform and took practical steps to redress them.
He believed that compliance of justice and its superiority carries a peaceful way of obtaining justice.
The governor said, "Let's make a resolve that by following the guiding principles of Quaid-e-Azam, we will make Pakistan a modern Islamic welfare state, where people and leaders would be role model for others. It is only possible when we transform the country according to his aspirations."
Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim said that Quaid-e-Azam had obtained this country after a great struggle and now it is our duty to fulfill our responsibilities towards realisation of the Quaid's dream of converting this country into a great Islamic state.
He asked the nation to launch a campaign in the light of the teachings of Quaid-e-Azam against idiosyncrasy and selfishness.-Agencies
