EU raises cane molasses reference price

The European Union has reduced its reference price for beet molasses but raised the equivalent price for cane molasses, its Official Journal said on Friday. The EU's sugar management committee, made up of representatives of national sugar authorities and the European Commission, set the reference price for beet molasses at 9.71 euros per 100 kg, down from 9.77 euros last set on December 9.
For cane molasses, the panel raised the reference price to 8.89 euros from the previous 8.50 euros. Import duties for both types of molasses were kept at zero.
