Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (Prgmea) has urged the government to start exclusive channels of radio and TV for exporters so as to provide them round the clock export related information. While talking to Business Recorder here on Saturday, Ijaz A. Khokhar, Central Chairman Prgmea said that lack of information is one of the biggest hurdles in expanding the country's exports.
He was of the view that proposed TV and radio channels can be helpful in providing valuable information to exporters of Pakistan who want to explore new markets for their quality products. The proposed channels can educate exporters regarding issues pertaining to WTO, quota and shipment transportation. He said that the government could use amount collected from exporters under the head of export development fund for the proposed channels. He said that communication gap between exporters and government circles, is causing loss to Pakistani exports. He said that commercial attachés all over the world, representatives of business and trade organisations and research cells of various organisations could provide valuable information to the proposed channels. He was of the view that Pakistani exporters have to spend huge amount to collect export-related information.
