Glowing tributes to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah were paid at Sindh Madressahtul Islam (SMI) here on Saturday on the 129th birthday of the Father of Nation. SMI Principal Professor Muhammad Ali Shaikh stated Jinnah had played his effective role in two ways; Jinnah as an individual and Jinnah as a leader.
The role of SMI in making the personality of Muhammad Ali Jinnah was remarkable. He acquired command over confidence, English language and communication capabilities from this Madressah.
While highlighting the role of Quaid as a leader, Professor Shaikh said the vision of leadership was present in the personality of Jinnah. He was a sincere and truthful man. This was the reason due to which Muslim of South Asia trusted him.
Expressing his views on the conditions of minority, he stated Jinnah also talked about the rights of the minorities and "we should come out of our stereotypes, and minorities should not be considered as enemies", he added.
In his book, " Luminaries of the Land", Professor Shaikh said educational institutes were the alma mater of the great leaders. Concluding his remarks, he said our teachers of present should work hard to make out today's Jinnah. In the light of the new tendencies we should build up our ways towards better future.
Earlier, Dr Nabila in her address, said, "minorities should not be counted as minorities, and we should implement the principles of Quaid in our lives." She also stated our historical sights should be preserved.
SMI Vice Principal Afroz Abbasi expressed her views about Jinnah stating that Muslims woke up from slumber under the leadership of Jinnah. Shah Muhammad Memon, Shabbir Ahmed Qureshi, Zahida Abbasi, Professor Muhammad Siddique Unnar, Rajab Ali and Zainul Afreen Shah also spoke.
