Pakistan will not be affected by the severe earthquake in the Pacific Ocean, its after-shocks or the resulting tidal wave, which hit various South and South East Asian countries on Sunday. Met Office Karachi Chief Meteorologist Arif Mahmood said Pakistan's coastal areas of Gwadar in Balochistan or Badin in Sindh, were out of the zone of that quake and the resultant tidal wave.
Since there was no chance of any area of Pakistan being affected by the quake or the tidal wave, no warning or alert has been issued to fishermen or the shipping sector, he told newsman.
