President, Sarhad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) Malik Niaz Ahmad has expressed concern over the consecutive five days gas shedding in Gadoon Amazai Industrial Estate and has demanded immediate restoration of gas supply to the estate. In a press statement issued here on Monday, the SCCI chief said: "Gadoon Amazai Industrial Estate is already presenting a shape of industrial graveyard and now the gas shedding is further affecting the textile units."
He said: "Most of the industrial units of the estate are running through Sui gas generating capacity power, but the suspension of gas supply is badly affecting the textile yarn, while the export process has also stopped."
Malik Niaz Ahmad alleged that a well-organised lobby is bent upon the closure of the successfully run textile units in Gadoon, while smooth gas supply is continuing to the industrial units of the other parts of the country in general and Punjab in particular.
He called for the immediate stoppage of the discriminatory attitude towards the Frontier province and its business community.
He demanded of the Ministry of Petroleum and GM Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) to take notice of the matter and restore power supply to the textile units of the estates immediately.
