The city police in an encounter killed one dacoit and foiling robbery bid in passenger coach on late Sunday night. According to the details, three culprits entered in 7-Star coach near Banaras Chowk area and looted coach driver. On shouting of women in ladies compartment for this sudden mishap, cops approached the spot from mobile standing nearby and immediately cordoned-off the coach.
The bandits opened fire as they saw the police personnel. In return, police also opened fire leaving one seriously injured while his accomplices managed to escape. The injured suspect was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to injuries. The police have recovered one TT pistol and looted amount of Rs 950 from his possession.
Meantime, the Orangi Town Police registered FIR numbers 295/04 and 296/04 under sections 353, 324, 392 and 13D and started searching the escaped dacoits. Moreover, initial investigation revealed that the deceased outlaw was wanted by the police in several robbery cases.
