Motorcycles were given to 50 members of the Peshawar Press Club (PPC) on Monday on easy instalments through the Bank of Khyber (BoK).This was stated by BoK Managing Director Dr Munir Ahmad while addressing the function as chief guest. He said the motorcycles were given to reporters, sub-editors, and photo-journalists of various newspapers after the signing of an agreement between the Bank of Khyber and the Peshawar Press Club, adding the press club has contributed Rs 10,000 to each applicant of its members.
Dr Munir Ahmad assured that BoK would extend more co-operation to journalists community to increase their mobility, saying the bank has big potential and would very soon become the largest financial institution of the country.
Addressing the function, Peshawar Press Club President Mohammad Riaz and its General Secretary Mohammad Iqbal Khattak thanked Dr Munir Ahmad for his support in the early delivery and easy instalments of the motorcycles.
They said that such kind of healthy activities would remain continue in future also, adding the cases of other PPC members are in progress, and they would also get their motorcycles shortly.
They said the motorcycles would go a long way to improve the professional commitment and increase their mobility, adding the press club had earlier distributed 35 tape-recorders and two digital cameras among the reporters and photo-journalists. Later, BoK managing director handed over the keys of motorcycles to the lucky journalists, while the PPC president also presented a shield to the chief guest.
Others who received shields for their meritorious services for the welfare of the journalists community were Mohammad Sharif Mohmand, Shehzad Anjum, and Abdul Qadoos.
