Punjab government has generated income of Rs 1.6 million through open auction of attractive registration marks of vehicles for LZK series here on Monday. The auction took place at the office of Director Excise & Taxation Region-C Lahore under the supervision of Chaudhry Muhammad Saleem, Superintendent, Excise & Taxation Department and Motor Registering Authority, Lahore, Mian Ahmad Saeed.
Official sources said here on Monday that out of total 136 attractive registration marks of LZK series, 130 numbers were contested and the highest bid of Rs 195,000 was received for LZK-1. LZK-786 fetched Rs 100,000, LZK-5 received Rs 72,500, LZK-2 gained Rs 32,000 and LZK-7 was sold at Rs 33,000.
Sources claimed that the provincial government is fetching millions of rupees through open auction of attractive registration marks. During the last two years the government had recovered revenue of around Rs 90 million through open auction of attractive registration marks for which credit goes to Secretary Excise & Taxation Sami Saeed who ensured transparency in the auction process, the sources said.
