Farmer Associates Pakistan (FAP) has demanded of the government to announce new fertiliser policy. Muhammad Idrees, a spokesman of FAP said here on Tuesday, after 99th general body meeting of FAP, that new fertiliser plants are necessary to meet the increasing consumption of fertiliser in Pakistan.
He said that today's meeting also demanded of the government to announce a relief package for those farmers facing severe water shortage. The government must also give subsidy to growers so that they can opt for sprinkle and drip irrigation system, he added.
Provincial minister for marketing Rana Qasim Noon also attended the meeting.
Moreover, progressive grower of Southern Punjab Syed Hussain Jahanian Gardezi has been elected senior vice-chairman of FAP.
