Askari Commercial Bank Limited (ACBL) has opened its new branch here on Tuesday, increasing its total number of branches to 12 in Lahore only and 75 in the country. Askari Bank's Area Manager Lahore Shaukat Ali inaugurated the Shahalam Market Branch, while senior bank officials including SVP Ijaz Ahmad and Area Manager East Tahir Bhatti, SVP and Chief Manager Lahore Cantt and SVP Shaukat Nazir and leading businessmen of the area were also present on the occasion.
While talking to Business Recorder, Senior Vice President and Chief Manager of Main Branch Lahore Sajjad Ahmed Qureshi said the bank was pursuing aggressive policies to capture the market and has introduced attractive consumer and agri products and they had received an overwhelming response. "Very soon we will also launch Islamic banking," he added.
According to him, Askari was the first commercial bank in Pakistan to introduce Internet banking, which was very successful. Moreover, the bank's share price in the stock markets was highest among the commercial banks, while it also had the highest short and medium term PACRA rating.
