A joint India Pakistan Peace and Goodwill Mission which is on a visit here from the United States met with the leader of the opposition in Sindh Assembly, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, in his chamber on Tuesday. PPPP leader Senator Raza Rabbani, and other leader of the party including Taj Haider were also present on the occasion.
The leader of the visiting mission, John Prabhu Doss, said on the occasion that the visit was aimed at fostering interaction between the people of Pakistan and India.
He said that we are here to promote goodwill and understanding between the people of the two countries.
John further stated that the very focus of this visit to both Pakistan and India is the creation of goodwill and understanding between the people of the two neighbourly South Asian countries.
He stated that he was also impressed to learn about the history of the Sindh Assembly.
Senator Raza Rabbani said that the PPPP believes in friendly ties between Pakistan and India and also stressed the need of the resolution of the core issue of Indian occupied Kashmir.
However, he was of the view that an overnight solution to this issue cannot be expected and that along with the confidence building measures, other avenues should also be explored and that the trade between the two countries should also go on.
Senator Rabbani believed that for a lasting peace in the region the dialogues should be at grassroots level and people to people contacts and interaction should be fostered.
Nisar Khuhro on the occasion explained the functioning of the Sindh Assembly. He further stated that we desire that the democracy should take roots in the country.

The parliamentary party leader of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) in Sindh Assembly, Maulana Umar Sadiq, was also present on the occasion.
