East West Enterprises Chief Executive Asif Sheikh Javaid has been nominated member of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry's (KCCI) sub-committee on shipping and multi-model transport for 2004-05 term. He is also Vice-Chairman of the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry's (FPCCI) Committee on Ports, Shipping, Maritime and Shipbuilding, and has served on various business and social fora in different capacities since 1991.
The KCCI committee Chairman hoped that the experience and knowledge of Asif on shipping would help minimise problems being faced by the trade and to formulate suitable recommendations for implementation.
Asif assured the committee that he would try his level best to discharge his responsibilities and work for a better co-ordination between members of trade and the authorities concerned.
