Chairman, Punjab Vocational Training Council (PVTC), Sikandar Mustafa has announced setting up of PVTC training institutes in order to ensure successful implementation of the PVTC expansion plan for the permanent rehabilitation of Mustahqeen-e-Zakat in the province. He was speaking at the concluding session of two-day PVTC convention here on Wednesday. The convention was attended by 30 presidents from Board of Management as well as 60 principals of vocational training institutes in the province.
Mustafa said that the Punjab Chief Minister has assigned the responsibility of setting up 500 vocational training institutes in the province for the training of 100,000 Mustahqeen-e-Zakat as skilled labour for which the provincial government has already allocated Rs 720 million.
The training institutes of the Council would ensure training of staff before their appointments in different vocational training institutes for the purpose of imparting technical training to the deserving people, he said. He said initially the institute would be set up in Lahore but afterward the same would be set up at regional levels.
Chief Operating Officer (COO) Sajid Naseer Khan made a detailed presentation on the restructuring plan of the PVTC.
The principals as well as presidents of the Board of Management also made deliberations on the proposed restructuring plan during the two-day convention and offered valuable suggestions for further up-gradation of the system.
