Qazi Hussain Ahmed, Ameer of Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) has threatened that it will convert 'black day' into a full fledged movement against the government, if it tries to create hurdles on January 1. "If government used its force to stop the black day procession in Rawalpindi, we will hold a complete sit in at Islamabad to dethrone the rulers by using peoples' power", said Qazi Hussain Ahmed, Chief of MMA, a conglomerate of six politico-religious parties of Pakistan, here on Wednesday.
Talking to newsmen here on the occasion of the funeral ceremony of Dr Abdul Qadus, he said that MMA wants to hold peaceful demonstration to observe black day against General Musharraf who refused to fulfil his commitment with this alliance. "We would not allow government to deny us the right to protest. We have a right to protest and if we were stopped we will hold a march towards Islamabad", he added.
Government, he said should learn the lesson from past. Benazir government tried to stop us from entering in Islamabad, which resulted in dissolution of that government, he said adding, "Once again we are in streets to show our power".
Qazi said his alliance would not hold talks with government on the issue of uniform. "Government has lost all its options of reconciliation with opposition and by using public power we will de-seat Musharraf", he added.
He said that alliance has strong and stable stand on uniform issue. If Musharraf not left one post till December 31 it will be unconstitutional and would have very bad impact on country's overall image.
"We are enjoying real peoples support and this power is enough to remove the uniform of General Musharraf", Qazi said adding that Musharraf had options to take one post but now he lost the options and people would not allow him to hold any one.
He said that any movement emerged after suppression and oppression is attaining the results and succeeding in attaining the desired goals.
Qazi, who is also Ameer of Jamaat-i-Islami Pakistan, dispelled the impression of having any agenda of the meeting between Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Secretary General of MMA and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz. He said that government is propagating this issue on media in order to win points. "It will be a routine meeting."
Responding to a question about the policy of MMA after black day, Qazi said that after January, alliance would hold caravans all over the country. "This would be a public contact move in which leaders would address general public to build an opinion to change the government with public empower", he added.
Criticising the military leadership, Qazi Hussain said "if Musharraf order Pakistan Army to salute America and India, I am sure that it will not hesitate".
Expressing concern over handing over the nuclear programme to America, Qazi Hussain said that American Secret War has stated that during tension between India and Pakistan America took hold of the Pakistan's nuclear programme. "Present government in fact has surrendered the nuclear assets to America", he added.
Talking on government decision to hold next year local body polls on non-party basis, Qazi Hussain Ahmed said that government is fully aware of its strength and ruler know that they will face terrible defeat.
