Russia's economy ministry has recommended the government scrap a five percent import tariff on iron ore and concentrate and zinc ore and concentrate. For the decision to become effective, a resolution has to signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov and officially published. "The government Commission for Protective Measures in Foreign Trade has made a decision to recommend the Russian government scrap an import duty on iron ore and concentrate, and zinc ore and concentrate," it said in a statement issued after a commission meeting on Tuesday.
Earlier this month, Fradkov signed a resolution scrapping a five percent import tariff on tin ore and concentrate for nine months after the commission recommended abolishing it in September.
