Chairman Wapda Tariq Hamid has assured the employees that no one would be rendered surplus during the on-going restructuring of the Power Wing and all would be adjusted as per policy. He expressed these views while presiding over a bipartite meeting between the Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) and the Collective Bargaining Agents (CBA), Pakistan Wapda Hydroelectric Central Labour Union held here on Thursday.
Addressing the meeting Tariq maintained that placement of Wapda employees in the field would take place with minimum dislocation and that, too, would be made based on their choice as far practicable.
Earlier, the representatives of the Union explained their view-point regarding unbundling of the power utility. Secretary General Khurshid Ahmad stressed the need for keeping Wapda intact and requested the Chairman to forward the same to the Federal Government.
The matters pertaining to betterment and welfare of Wapda employees were also discussed in the meeting.
Member (Power) Muhammad Anwar Khalid, General Manager (Administration) Brigadier Muhammad Najam-us-Saqib and Director General Finance, (B&C) were present on the occasion.
