The NWFP Senior Minister Sirajul Haq has said the performance of MMA government in a short period of two years was crystal clear and their steps for welfare of the people and development of the province had no match with the performance of past regimes. He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of the re-construction of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Munda in Lower Dir on Wednesday. The building has been completed at a cost of Rs 13 million under ADP scheme.
The function, besides MNA Maulana Ahmad Ghafoor Ghawas, District Nazim Ihsanul Haq, Tehsil Nazim Samar Bagh Qazi Hussain Ahmad, Abdullah and Inayatullah Naib Nazims, MMA leaders Maulana Muhammad Gulab, Aizazul Mulk Ifkaari, Ihsanullah and Kaleemullah, was largely attended by the parents, students and teachers of the school.
Siraj said the steps of the provincial government for financial discipline, good governance, elimination of corruption and other evils from the officialdom were even appreciated world over including international financial institutions.
However, he said they instead of seeking appreciation would prefer to undertake solid work and fulfill people's aspirations to motivate them elect MMA with massive countrywide mandate in the coming general elections to realise the long standing dream of enforcement of Shariah in the country.
He regretted that every government always took such a steps that could increase prestige of the nation, besides ensuring their prosperity but centre disappointed the masses by acting vice versa like the recent step of removing religion column from the Pakistani passport. He said that development involved no good except depriving the nation of their religious identity to show to the world community.
He said rulers in the centre had also become habitual of ignoring promises made with people in their visits of various parts of the country. Developmental package announced by the President for development of Peshawar was put in the cold storage.
Similarly, the promises of increasing provincial resources and meeting their other due rights including hydel net-profit were not realised and that added to the sense of deprivation among the people, he added.
On the other hand, Sirajul Haq said the MMA government always took solid steps for development of the province and honoured all promises made with the people as such. He said their steps for reformation of society, introducing reforms in social sectors and government departments and launching minor and mega schemes for prosperity of the people provided ample proof in that respect.
He said MMA government had created a congenial atmosphere for accelerating industrialisation process, trade and commerce activities by ensuring peace in the province and maintaining law and order.
However, he said the centre had to fulfill its obligations in that respect by helping provincial government in cherishing that task and speeding up the process of development in the region, he concluded.
