The Bangladeshi taka ended weaker on Wednesday after importers sought US dollars so they could obtain letters of credit for food grain and capital machinery shipments, dealers said. The taka was quoted at 59.97/63.20 per dollar, against 59.95/62.90 on Tuesday. Dealers said most of the deals were settled between 63.00 and 63.20 per dollar level while two public banks sold dollars at 59.97 level.
Call rates were unchanged from Monday, ranging between 6.5 percent and 10.50 percent.
