Indonesia rocked by strong quake

Indonesia was Saturday hit by the latest in a series of strong quakes in the wake of last month's tsunami-triggering seismic shift, but there were no new reports of casualties or damage, officials said. The tremor, measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale, struck at 8:47 pm (1347 GMT) some 200 kilometres (120 miles) south west of Jakarta, a spokesman for the government meteorological office said.
The country sits atop the collision point of three continental plates, with massive subterranean forces causing frequent earth tremors and volcanic eruptions.
