As we know that many people have wrong perception about Pakistan especially across the border, but you cannot assume anything just by listening rumours, the only way we can get people to expand their vision of Pakistan is by experiencing it first, otherwise it’s just like judging anything by its cover.
A young American woman, Cynthia D. Ritchie, one of the former Goodwill Ambassadors for Pakistan, has changed the global perception of Pakistan after a visit.
She had been invited continuously by a Pakistani American, finally she visited Pakistan to have a first-hand experience of the country. She also didn’t shy away from sharing her experience via social media.
After visiting Pakistan she shared her whole experience on Twitter and Facebook, she explained the real beauty of Pakistan in her own way, not only this but she felt that Pakistani people are very hospitable, and she liked the delicious food they serve to their guests.
Commenting about youth of the country, she said there are some challenging issues but youth of Pakistan is the hope for the future.
Cynthia is not one of them who capture the pictures of their visit to attract the social media traffic, she didn't just settle for picture uploads to document her travels, she addressed questions and changed perceptions - all through Twitter.
She travelled across Pakistan including KPK, Skardu, Lahore and Sindh and took to Twitter to share her photos, tagging all her pictures with the hashtag #ShukriyaPakistan as a way of expressing her gratefulness for all the love and hospitality she received from the locals.
Cynthia now plans to document her travels in Pakistan for a good cause by producing a documentary series about the nation, and capturing “the true spirit of Pakistan,” to educate people on a global platform about the beauty, hospitality and kindness of the country.
