Steps would be taken to ensure the utilisation of funds given by City Government to Union Councils in the light of resolution of City Council. A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting held under the chairmanship of acting Nazim Karachi Tariq Hasan. The meeting was attended by DCO Fazlur Rehman, Senior Presiding Officer City Council, Muslim Pervez, EDO Finance Shakil Naqvi and others. In the meeting, a committee comprising of City Council members and headed by EDO Law was formed.
The committee will examine the causes whereby the Rs 6.4 million funds provided to Union Councils were not fully utilised and submit its recommendations to City Council in the light of difficulties faced to UCs and other facts.
