National Assembly (NA) Speaker Chaudhry Amir Hussain has said the national economy had attained a strong position due to the effective and flexible policies of the government. Talking to different delegations, including exporters and farmers, on Sunday here he said the government has introduced a 'investment-friendly' environment aimed at attracting maximum foreign investment and providing conducive climate to the investors in different industrial projects in Pakistan.
Chaudhry Amir Hussain said a large number of foreign investors belonging to different countries have showed their keen interest in establishing various projects in Pakistan, adding the main objectives of the government were to bring about the industrial revolution, widen the strong industrial base and generate employment opportunities.
He urged the exporters to concentrate on exploring new avenues for bringing big boom in export volume as well as introducing the home-made products in non-traditional markets of the globe.
The NA Speaker also called upon the exporters to take adequate steps for diversification of products for fetching maximum foreign exchange for the country.
He said Pakistan could earn huge foreign exchange through the export of non-traditional products to different international markets because there were a great demand for these products.
Chaudhry Amir Hussain also said the government has taken numerous steps to maintain the law and order for ensuring the smooth export activities and keep the economic wheel moving in full motion.
He said the government was committed to purging the country from the menace of terrorism, adding it was also working on strategy for the elimination of the menace of terrorism from grassroots level.
The NA Speaker said that front line role of Pakistan in war on terrorism was being broadly appreciated in the whole world, adding with the active support of the masses the menace of terrorism and extremism would be eliminated from the country.
Talking to a delegation of cultivators, the NA Speaker said the government was making all out efforts to promote the agriculture sector for attaining self-sufficiency in food items.
Chaudhry Amir Hussain advised the farmers to take step for sowing new varieties of crops especially off-season crops in their respective areas, saying the government was utilising all available resources for resolving the problems confronting the farmer community, as to enable them to play an instrumental role in bringing economic stability in the country.
