Two persons were killed and four others sustained injuries in a firing incident at Shanti Nagar Chak 72/10-R, some 50 kilometres from here on Saturday night. Police said that Ayub (26) and Hanooq (30) were sitting at a chowk in the village when Moon, Abroon and their father Billoo opened fire at them after an exchange of harsh words. As a result Ayub died on the spot while Hanooq was being taken to hospital in precarious condition where he died on the way.
Four other persons including Yusaf, Aslam, Younis and Izzat Beg also sustained bullet wounds. They were shifted to Civil Hospital Khanewal from where Yusaf has been referred to Nishtar Hospital Multan in precarious condition.
The deceased and accused belong to Christian community, police added. The motive behind the murder could not be ascertained so far.
Khanewal Sadar police have registered the case against the accused and started investigation.
