Eid-ul-Azha was celebrated with religious fervour in Sialkot, Daska, Pasrur, Zafarwal, Sambrial and Ugoki areas on Friday. The prayers were offered at different mosques and open places in the city and other parts of Sialkot district. On this occasion, strict security measures were adopted by the district administration to maintain law and order in the district. Similarly, the Sialkot Municipal administration also made adequate arrangements for removing the offal from the city.
The Ulema, in their Eid sermons, highlighted the philosophy of sacrifice and fulfilment of the order of Allah Almighty by Hazrat Ibrahim (PBUH) to sacrifice his son Hazrat Ismail (PBUH).
They stressed that the people should forge complete unity among their ranks for foiling evil designs and activities of anti-Muslim forces, saying for lack of unity the Muslim world has been confronting with multifarious problems and with the passage of time these problems are multiplying rapidly.
The Ulema urged the people to take adequate measures for the betterment of the poor and deserving people of the society and share their miseries in Eid-ul-Azha.
They said it was Islam that protects the rights of women and minorities as well as taught the lesson of brotherhood, peace and tolerance, adding it is high time that Muslims should forge complete unity among their ranks for coping with the growing threats of violence and terrorism because Islam has forbidden violence in all its forms and manifestations.
The Ulema were of the opinion that Muslims should shun their petty differences for coping with the challenges and threats to Ummah with unity, calling upon the faithful to please Allah Almighty the Eid delights should be shared with poor, orphans, needy and widows.
The orphans, destitute and other needy persons are in dire need of the full support and attention of the well-off people and collective efforts should be made for minimising problems and miseries for their survival in the society, they said.
The Ulema called upon the faithful to mould their lives in accordance with the tenet of Islam and golden teachings of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), the greatest educator to the mankind, for getting rid of multifarious problems and difficulties.
On this occasion, special prayers were offered for the unity, prosperity and solidarity of the country as well as for the early liberation of Indian occupied Kashmir in all mosques of Sialkot district.
