Bollywood ‘Udta Punjab’ actress Alia Bhatt has criticized Indian society and said that it’s very judgmental. She called it slut-shaming with taking an example of Taylor Swift’s relationships. She compares Indian typical society with American society. Bhatt, as a star kid instead of counting her lucky stars she whine and complain at every press opportunity she gets.
According to The Huffington Post, When asked why the conservatism when it comes to talking openly about love? She said, “In India, because ours is a very real price to pay. You are a part of a society that's very judgmental. Here, girls’ having multiple boyfriends is still a huge-ass deal and something that is frowned upon. I mean, look at Taylor Swift. She's dated, like, everybody. But if she was here, she'd be totally shamed for making those choices. Her image and appeal would be very different. The reason actresses don't talk about their private lives is because in our society there is a lot of slut-shaming. Eventually, I have a responsibility and I have to protect myself.”
“Oh, aapka break-up ho gaya, who’s next? This shallow and stupid thinking is just the reality of our society which doesn’t allow women to be the way they’d like to be — free and independent,” She continued.
There have been a lot of speculations regarding relationship between Alia Bhatt and actor Sidharth Malhotra, but Alia Bhatt refuses to comment on any rumours.
She will be next seen in Gauri Shinde's ‘Dear Zindagi’ along with Shah Rukh Khan, and then in Ayan Mukerji's ‘Dragon’ opposite Ranbir Kapoor.
