Chairman All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Shah Gilani has appealed to the international community to urge upon India to accept Kashmiris' right to self-determination. In a telephonic interview to PTV here on Wednesday, he said, Kashmiris would celebrate the Republican Day or Independent Day of India as 'Black Days'. He said the wide majority of Kashmiris is protesting today (Wednesday) against the forced Indian occupation of their land.
He said the Indian government and the political leadership by violating all its commitments at domestic as well as international level continued the occupation of the land of Kashmiri people through suppressive means.
"Right from 1947, the Kashmiris have been protesting against the suppressive Indian occupation of their land but the international community had failed to pay attention to their sufferings," Gilani said.
He said the United Nations have declared Kashmir as disputed territory by suggesting its solution in accordance to the will of Kashmiri people.
India by denying all the international norms is continuing with worst kind of state suppression against innocent Kashmiris, he said, adding the international community should take notice of it.
The APHC leader said that Kashmiris would continue their struggle until the achievement of their objective.
