The annual elections of the Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ) will be held on February 12. This was announced by KUJ Secretary Fazil Jamil, on Sunday. The Election Committee headed by Qutubuddin Ahmed has notified the schedule for the these polls.
A 30 strong BDM delegates would also be elected on the occasion for the polls of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ).
As many as 440 eligible voters will use their right of franchise at the KUJ annual elections.
According to schedule, the Election Committee will receive the nomination papers on February 1 at the Karachi Press Club (KPC) while the polling will be held at the KPC from 9 am to 5 pm on February 12.
The annual general body meeting of the KUJ will also be held on the same day followed by traditional lunch, said Fazil Jamili.
He said that the biennial delegates meeting (BDM) of PFUJ will be held in Karachi from March 4 to 6.
The elections of the PFUJ for 2005-07 will be held on March 6.
