In occupied Kashmir, the JKLF has said, military forces coerce people to vote and it congratulated the people for making the election boycott a success, reports Kashmir Media Service. A JKLF spokesman said, forces dragged people out of their houses at Sopore, Baramulla, Hajin, Kupwara, Handwara and Pattan. He said, the identity cards of people were snatched and they were asked to show their fingers carrying indelible ink mark.
The spokesman said, district president of the party Nissar Hussain Geelani, was beaten by Indian occupation troops belonging to 22 RR, and his card was snatched and was threatened of serious consequences if he did not vote.
Meanwhile, JKLF chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik and Democratic Freedom Party president Shabbir Ahmad Shah continued their anti-poll campaign. A spokesman said, they addressed a rally at Chrar-i-Sharief and urged people to boycott the election.
He said, a large number of people joined the rally and pro-liberation slogans were raised on the occasion. Campaign was also continued in occupied Srinagar and those who participated in it included Noor Mohammad Kalwal, Mohammad Yasin Bhat and Ghulam Rasool Hazari. They visited Nishat, Ishbar, Shalimar, Harwan, Dara, Theed, Manzgam. They asked people to boycott polls. The spokesman said, the delegation was given a rousing reception at these places.
