District Nazim Attock Major Tahir Sadiq (Retd) has said that present government is utilising all out resources to provide basic amenities of life to the people. This he said, while addressing Jand Bar Council here on Friday. MPA Pir Abbas Mohy-ud-Din, Civil Judge Saleem Iqbal, Civil Judge Saeed Raza, President Jand Bar Council Sardar Muhammad Ali and members of the bar were also present on the occasion.
The Nazim said that district government is making concerted efforts to resolve the problems of lawyers' community, and so far more than Rs one million has been released for their welfare. He said soon gas would be provided to Tehsil Bar building and boundary wall would be built.
Talking about electrification, he said in the next three months Rs 650 million would be spent in this context. He said, in the coming two years all the villages of the district would be electrified.
He said, for the development of agriculture Rs 180 million have been spent, as a result 3,775 farmers were benefited.
He said to overcome shortage of water, work on three small dams including Jalwal, Jaba and Tilkna has been started and work on Thatti Syedan would soon be started.
Tahir Sadiq said that in the next financial year 11 small dams would be built in the district. Next year the Government Inter College Injra would be upgraded to degree level, he added.
He said so far district govt has enrolled 140 lecturers and 711 teachers for the 132 newly upgraded schools and colleges. Soon gas would be supplied to four villages of Jand, Pindighaib and Fatehjang.
Nazim said a stadium and a park would also be built in Jand. He said so far the distt govt has paid Rs 20 million as scholarship to the poor and talented students.
He said efforts are being made to establish law and medical colleges at Attock. Earlier the Distt Nazim administered oath to the newly elected members of the bar.
The Nazim also held an open kutchery and listened to the problems of the masses and gave orders on the spot for their early solution.
