Sindh Chief Minister and Pakistan Muslim League (PML) Sindh President Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim on Friday launched the membership drive of the party in the Sindh province at a ceremony held at Muslim League House. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Arbab described February 4 as an important day with regard to the reorganisation of Muslim League in Sindh.
The objective of the drive was to unite the PML workers, computerise their antecedents and provide them an opportunity of participation in every activity of life, the Chief Minister told a big gathering on the occasion.
"We want to carry the message of Muslim League to gross root level and play an active role in the country's affairs and for political stability."
He said he remained in various parties whole of his life, but never filled the form of any one of them and PML was the only party whose basic membership form he was filling he said adding it was the party which gave him respect and made its provincial chief and because of that only he reached the seat of Chief Ministership.
"After filling the membership form, I promise to remain in this party for rest of my life or leave the politics," Dr Arbab announced.
Chief Minister said that minor differences do happen in every major or small political party, but he was happy that PML workers harbour a positive thinking and sort out their minor differences in them.
He said there was no grouping in our party and with the blessing of Allah, the party's reorganisation had completed in eight districts besides Karachi. He said the process of reorganisation in other districts too would be completed soon.
He declared that Muslim League would be made the real and strong party and in that the party workers would be carried along in all matters.
Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim called upon the workers to start preparations for the coming local bodies' elections, get united and disseminate the PML message to all areas.
He told the gathering that Karachi's Nazim could become City Nazim due to the co-operation of Muslim League workers whereas Nazim Hyderabad too was present as Nazim due to the PML support.
The PML Sindh Chief criticised the policies of PPP and said that since the government of Nawaz Sharif, this party had been saying that Benazir Bhutto was returning in 15 days and those 15 days were not yet over.
He said he was happy that with the departure of Asif Zardari the couple had the opportunity of rejoining and now both were going for Umrah but would not come to Pakistan.
