Brazilian sugar vessels line-up falls

The line-up of vessels waiting to load sugar in Brazil's ports decreased to 44 from 50 last week, shipping agent Williams said Thursday.
Its weekly report had 26 vessels lined up in the southern port of Santos, down from 28 last week. At Maceio in north-eastern Brazil, there were nine ships, up slightly from eight last week. Two ships were at the southern port of Paranagua, down from four last week.
Santos accounted for 70 percent of the sugar being loaded in Brazil's ports, while Maceio took 17 percent, Recife 7 percent and Paranagua 4 percent.
Brazil's main center-south sugar producing region completed a record harvest in December. The north-east region, accounting for about 15 percent of national output, is due to continue harvesting until the end of March.
