Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) has offered a concession of 30 percent to its consumers on all the outstanding bills up to June 2004. The concession will be available till February 28 and those who failed to clear the outstanding bills with in this period will have to pay an additional amount of 10 percent as fine or face imprisonment, attachments of their properties and other lawful actions, a senior official of Wasa told APP here on Sunday.
He said the consumers are legally and morally bound to clear their dues timely against the services which they get from the department.
The official made it clear that no official of Wasa has been authorised to get cash from the consumers against their dues as it is responsibility of the consumers to deposit the amount in banks.
