Paramilitary forces were deployed along the main gas transmission line of Dhodhak oil & gas field for its security, while a special team of engineers and technicians were engaged in repairing the pipeline. Gas is now being supplied to Dera Ghazi Khan, Kot Adu and Muzaffargarh from Sui gas field.
The main gas transmission line was ruptured near Mangrotha (Taunsa Sharif) in Dera Ghazi Khan district on Saturday night resultantly gas supply to Dera Ghazi Khan and Kot Adu towns was suspended.
A team of technician rushed to the spot from Multan for the repair of this line, said General Manager of SNGPL Multan Hassan Ali Qureshi.
"At least seven persons became unconscious due to natural gas, while severe jolts were received by the residents of Mangrotha village soon after a big bang of blast. People of the area immediately vacated their homes," said Sardar Saeedullah Nasuha, Tehsil Nazim of Taunsa Sharif.
"A 5X10 feet ditch occurred at the site due to the explosion of the device that could be a sabotage act and outcome of the Balochistan situation," said Shoaib-ur-Rehman, an engineer of SNGPL.
The cause of this rupture could not be ascertained because of the darkness at the site.
