Working with 13 judges against the statutory strength of 17 judges, the Supreme Court next week will have one full and five division benches. The cause list assigned to these benches is also lean in comparison to the one notified in recent weeks.
The Full Bench will be the First Bench that is presided over by Chief Justice Nazim Hussain Siddiqui and has Justice Javed Iqbal and Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar.

A very few cases this week pertaining to the assessment of customs and excise duties by the appraisers of which two long standing on the list relate to Lying Kraft Paper Mill and Zaman Paper and Board Mills.
The Second Bench comprises of Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and Justice M Javed Buttar and majority of appeals before it are in service matters in the public sector corporations or the government services.
The Third Bench has Justice Hamid Ali Mirza and Justice Muhammad Nawaz Abbasi while Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan and Justice Falak Sher will in the Fourth Bench to hear appeals in criminal convictions.
The fifth bench is composed of Justice Khalil-ur-Rahman Ramday and Justice Mian Shakirullah January and the sixth bench has Justice Faqir Muhammad Khokhar and Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jilani.
