Present Sindh Inspector-General of Police, Kamal Shah, has been elevated and posted as Secretary Interior, while the incumbent, Tariq Mahmud, has been posted as Secretary, Communications, sources told Business Recorder here on Monday. Asad Jehangir Khan, Additional IG Sindh, has been appointed acting IGP Sindh. Kamal Shah was seconded to Police Service from the army. He is expected to take charge as Secretary Interior later this week. He is already in Grade 22.
The new Secretary Communications, Tariq Mahmud, a Grade 22 officer of DMG, has vast experience of 32 years. Earlier he has held the posts of Federal Secretary, Food, Agriculture, and Livestock, and Additional Chief Secretary, NWFP.
