An accountability court on Thursday adjourned to February 22, proceedings in a reference against Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Acting President Javed Hashmi after recording the statements of three witnesses. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) produced the accused before the court amid stringent security measures. The accused has been facing the charges of corruption and making illegal money in excess of his income.
Javed Hashmi told newsmen outside the courtroom that he would not accept any government pressure. He said that the Alliance for the Restoration of Democracy (ARD) would soon launch a movement against the government.
He said that the days of the present rulers are numbered. He said that generals are not in a position to resolve the Balochistan issue, as political leadership can only resolve political problems.
