Chicago Board of Trade wheat futures were higher early on Thursday, rebounding on supportive export news after opening lower, traders said. As of 10:45 am CST (1645 GMT), CBOT March wheat was up 2-1/4 cents at $2.92-1/4 per bushel, with May up 1 cent at $3.00. Futures were pressured at the open on inter-market spreads, with traders selling Chicago against Kansas City wheat. Refco Inc sold 400 CBOT March wheat contracts and bought 400 March contracts at the Kansas City Board of Trade, traders said.
