Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) Managing Director Brigadier Tariq Saddozai has directed KESC transmission and distribution engineers to make arrangements for providing additional power load to industries. The MD issued these directives following a request by Lasbela Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI), whose delegation led by its president Saleem Mandviwala visited KESC head office and held meeting with MD and other senior officials, according to a release of the corporation.
The members of delegation, including MD, Lasbela Industrial Estate Development Authority Colonel Bashir Ahmed Nadeem (retd) and other members of chamber discussed power distribution and transmission facilities to Lasbela industrial zone.
Saleem Mandviwala said that the chamber was aggressively pursuing improvement in industrial production in the area. Sick industries are being revived and efforts for increasing industrial production are going on for which additional power load of 5 MW at Vinder and 4 MW at Hub is required.
MD KESC directed engineers to provide 5 MW additional load at Vinder on top priority evaluating the capacity of power transformer already installed in area.
For Hub, additional power load of 4 MW would also made available for which existing power transformer would replaced by higher capacity transformer to cater additional load. The engineers were directed to carry out the schemes, which would cost corporation about 20 million rupees.
Saddozai said the matter was in purview of Nepra, and LIEDA should submit a proposal, which would be forwarded for judicious decision in this regard.-PR
