The federal government is actively considering over a plan to install ultra-modern "Radars" costing Rs 400 million at Sialkot and Mangla Dam for obtaining long distance weather information. The installation of Radars at Sialkot and Mangla Dam would cover 450-km-long area and help in obtaining weather information. Official sources told Business Recorder here on Sunday that the installations of these modern Radars at Sialkot and Magla would help in getting weather information of Northern Areas and Kashmir.
They also said that under the programme meteorological radar of Lahore would also be upgraded at a cost of Rs 15 million. The work on the project would be carried out in near future, sources added.
