I have come to learn with surprise that the Government of Pakistan is considering to allocating an area in the vicinity of the Karachi Grammar School to the Government of the United States of America for its consulate in Karachi. This action exposes our children to all sorts of security threats in particular and vast security and operational inconveniences in general, neither the school nor the consulate will be able to function properly or securely.
Can you just begin to imagine the traffic chaos? As a highly concerned parent, an old Grammarian, and a resident of the city I would like our leaders to think and plan long-term before making any decision with such far-reaching consequences, it is our current generation that is paying for the short-sightedness of past leaders. Let us not subject our future generations to the same treatment.
