The Zarathushti Heritage and Cultural Centre held a reception for renowned artist and humanitarian Jimmy Engineer in Houston (Texas). According to a message received here, Zoroastrian Association of Houston's Library Chairperson, Aban Rustomji, introduced Jimmy Engineer to an audience of friends.
Jimmy's parents Fali and Perin Engineer, his sister Nina Challa and brother Kersi Engineer with their families, long time residents of Houston were also present.
The audience of over 150 was moved to hear from Jimmy Engineer on how he started painting, the story behind his famous "Partition Paintings", his landscapes, his still life paintings, his abstract art, to his most recent work in progress on the 'World Architecture Series'.
Jimmy talked about his peace walks that brought great awareness to the suffering of the poor and the need for schools and hospitals in Pakistan.
Jimmy advocated the cause of children with special needs where busloads of handicapped children, blind, deaf, and other physically handicapped are all taken to five-star hotels and where they are treated to a meal and an evening of entertainment.-PR
