Seraiki Awami Sangat (SAS) has appealed to Seraiki people not to cast their votes in favour of 'waderas', 'jagirdars', feudal lords, and those who betrayed them in the past. Instead, they should exercise their right of vote in favour of new generation in the forthcoming local bodies election. Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Manzoor Ahmed Fareedi, Abdul Qayyum, Advocate, Naseer Ahmed and Niaz Gul Khan said that Legharis, Mazaris, Makhdooms, Qureshis, Gilanis and other 'big families' betrayed their voters.
They annexed top slots including president's, governor, chief minister, speaker etc, but they did nothing for the welfare of downtrodden people who are still living below the poverty line. They called for unity among the masses to face the situation.
They demanded creating 'Seraikistan', introduction of Seraiki as medium of education, setting up a television station, health university, engineering university, a Museum, an auditorium and mega industrial projects to be executed in this area to end joblessness, poverty and hunger.
