Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Monday appreciated the role of Pakistan Navy in providing relief and rescue operations for those affected by heavy rains in Pasni. He was talking to the Naval Chief Admiral Shahid Karimullah who called on him here at the Prime Minister's House. The Prime Minister commended the role of Pakistan Navy in the relief and rescue operations and said it was the first to reach the affected areas. He appreciated the food drops to the marooned people.
He also appreciated its role when it participated in the search and rescue operation after the December 26 tsunami, particularly in Maldives and later for the relief and rehabilitation work in Sri Lanka.
